Boychoirs have graced the chancels of churches, the halls of kings, and the world’s public squares for hundreds of years, each performance touching the heart, gladdening the spirit. They represent the innocence and promise of their youth for us all, and the revered scores that guide them underscore our own faith and hope.

The Memphis Boychoir was begun as a community outreach program by St. John's Episcopal Church in 1988. Open to all boys 6 to12 in the city, talent and dedication being the only requirements, today’s choir is an accurate reflection of what we look like as a city, a credit to every one of us, and a vision of what we can accomplish in concert with each other.

It is, of course, about the music. But it’s also about much more. Growth. Respect, Understanding. Cooperation. Accomplishment. Recognition.

When these children sing, it’s a celebration of our common heritage as children of God.

Enjoy.
